Alexandra Paal

My name is Alexandra and I am originally from Munich but I moved to London 3 years ago.I am really excited to come back to Munich and work with different artist to share ideas and experiment. I will finish my BA in Contemporary Dance at the Place, London Contemporary Dance School in July and would like to join the mailing list as a performer for the different visiting artists.
In the past years I had the opportunity to perform in different spaces including theatres as well as galleries/installations and sight specific pieces. Within my degree I performed several times at the Robin Howard Dance Theatre, The Place in London. London is a paradise for different art forms and I had the chance to get to know artist from many different fields including film, photography and fine art. I really enjoy mixing ideas and sharing the knowledge and different perspectives everyone has. I believe through experimenting with new ideas amazing art can emerge. I am really interested in the Flying Low technique by David Zambrano which I studied with Leila McMillan throughout my course at London Contemporary Dance School. The efficiency in floor work and how you can learn to “fly” fascinates me. I am always keen on going to different workshops everywhere around the world and learn new things for my personal little toolbox. Gaga had a big influence on my movement and performance. The idea of being aware of sensation while seeing and being seen is really interesting to me. I attended several Gaga workshops and intensives in the past and I do have Gaga in my weekly schedule with Chisato Ohno a former dancer with Batsheva Dance Company. I am excited come back to my home town to explore more and learn from inspiring artists.
