short bio:
Alex Clair is a freelance dancer and creator working between Europe and the States. As a performer, Alex has worked with choreographer Andrea Martini since 2021 – touring work throughout Israel, Italy, and other regions of Europe. She has also worked with choreographers such as Damien Jalet, Emilie Leriche, Shawn Fitzgerald Ahern, and Omri Drumlevich. Premiering works throughout Paris, Italy, New York, and Tel Aviv. Alex most recently toured with Alan Lucien Øyen’s company WinterGuests performing “Story, Story, Die”. As a creator, she has choreographed and taught throughout many professional companies and programs such as Dallas Black Dance Theatre (USA), Dance Arts Faculty (Italy), The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (Israel), Dance Italia (Italy), and Booker T, Washington HSPVA (USA). Alex is an alumna of both The Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College (SUNY) in New York, and BTWHSPVA in Texas.
class description:
This class has the focus of habit breaking – offering improvisational tasks to discover new ways of movement and applying those discoveries to phrase work and choreography. The idea of noticing our known and challenging the exploration of the lesser accessed and unknown movement, allowing for greater discovery and embracement of ourselves as movement artists.
