From 2018-2020, he taught at Iwanson International and established the subject LAB: a course to bridge improvisation techniques and composition from a dancer’s perspective. Class
For the freelancing dance artists, I believe that dance technique is a multifaceted term that is relative to the specific physical and performative requirements one encounters in various creative processes: learning technique is not something that necessarily only happens in a dance class situation. Based on this, I want to offer playful classes that draw from many different dance forms, that upright hold and train our stamina, co-ordination, musicality, creativity and heighten the body’s functionality. We will also do improvisation training as individuals, in pairs and as a group. Throughout the week, my goal is to bring the participants closer to an understanding of how time, space, affect and imagination can be perceived as concrete materials with which one can dance, and from which one can draw inspiration as an interpreter, collaborator or creator. We will cultivate listening, finding a state of flow, finding balance between ease and effort, and celebrate the joy of movement. https://buirouch.com
