Dancer, teacher and choreographer. She was a member of two repertoire companies, in Portugal and the Netherlands, and danced in works by various renowned choreographers and directors, including Anouk van Dijk, Merce Cunningham, Rui Horta, Mark Haim, Amanda Miller, Leine/Roebana and Peter Sellars. Most recently, Daniela was seen in “GÖTZIN” by theatre director Jan Struckmeier. She has also performed with various dance and music improvisation artists. Daniela has choreographed several pieces and shown them at festivals in England, Italy and the Netherlands. In Munich she has shown her own productions in the Schwere Reiter and also choreographed pieces on behalf of the Dance Theater of Munich. Most recently, she choreographed for the project “Tasting Water” by Manasvini Eberl. She is a guest teacher at various high-ranking European companies and universities. Class
Daniela wants to convey in her class, a deep awareness and understanding of the body in motion, which leads to more freedom and lightness in dancing. Her classes are an interplay between release, recovery, and conscious directing of the body in space. Daniela seeks the balance between stability and letting go with a clear focus on musicality. Her many years of experience with the Alexander Technique have had a deep impact in her dancing and teaching, seeking full awareness and efficiency of movement. The lesson begins with simple exercises on the floor and continues to develop into standing combinations. These become more complex and move through space leading to a longer combination to finish the class.
