David Nicolas Russo  was born in Cuneo, Italy, 1979 from a Philippine mother and a French father.

His artistic path started at the age of 9 years with gymnastic and dance classes in private schools, followed by one year with the Finnish teacher Pertti Virtanen in Turin and Genua (Italy). He attended summer classes with the Royal Ballet School in London and with the Rosella Hightower School in Cannes (France). 1996 he joined the John Cranko Ballet Academy in Stuttgart (Germany) and graduated two years later under the Vaganova Teacher Pjotr A. Pestov. While staying at the Cranko Academy he had several professional stage- experiences in ballets choreographed by J. Cranko, W. Forshyte and R. Zanella. 1997 he received a scholarship from the Birgit Keil Foundation.

From 1998 till 2000 he was a soloist of the State Theater of Saarbruecken (Germany) under the direction of the Berlin choreographer Birgit Scherzer. In the next 5 years he joined the company Ballet Theater Munich (Germany) directed by the British choreographer Philip Taylor, In Munich he worked in choreography of between others: Jiri Kilian, Jennifer Hanna, Rui Horta, Dylan Newcomb, Olga Cobos & Peter Mika, Annett Göhre and Cayetano Soto.

During his stay in Munich he did his first attempts as choreographer and in July 2005 he started his free lancing career as dancer and choreographer on international level. In December 2005 he performed in Switzerland and Holland the solo piece “Marvin” by the Swiss choreographer J. Morand. In the following four years this solo will be performed in Begium, Germany, Denmarc and the USA. Meanwhile he made for the Birgit Keil Foundation at the Ballet Academy of the University for Music and Performing Arts of Mannheim (Germany) two choreographies: “ERstaunt” and “Aeternum”.

In June 2006 he was guest soloist of the Italian ballet company Teatro Nuovo di Torino for the premiere of “A midsummer night dream”, by the American choreographer Robert North, in which he danced the role of Puck.

He also was a guest as ballet and modern dance teacher in several European dance schools and, in February 2006, at the Ballet Philippines in the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) of Manila.

In January 2007 he choreographed “Deseo” for the same Company in Manila, meanwhile contributing for the local Foundation, the Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation, in a teaching project for underprivileged children, and guest teaching at the Philippine High School for the Arts, Modern and Ballet classes.

From September 2007 untill August 2010 he was engaged as soloist member again in Munich for TTM (TanzTheaterMünchen) in the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz directed by choreographer Henning Paar.

In June 2010 he graduates at the University of Music and Performing art Munich in Ballet Pedagogy and in September he accepted a teaching position at the Ballet Academy in Munich as a Ballet and Contemporary Dance Teacher.

Also in September 2010 he was winner of the 2. International Choreographical Competion “Contact Energy” in Erfurt with the choreography “Ein-fluss”, the same piece was newly choreographed in April 2011 for the resident dance company of the Theater in Ulm.

In January 2011 he presented in collaboration with Pedro Dias and Rita Soares the full length Evening Dance Performance “@time” in the Munich free scene Theater i-camp and in December of the same year he presented again in the i-camp Theater the choreographical show-case “Tanzbescherung”.

In June 2012 he accepted a guest contract as an actor for the Schauburg – Theater der Jugend where they premiered in Oktober a riadaptation of Goldoni’s “Zoff in Chioggia”. In september of the same year he was invited by the Munich Artist Yvonne Pouget to perform with her in a open air Baroc Music Festival, the Giovanni Paisiello Festival. In 2012, he was commissioned by the Cultural Management of the Catholic Church of Munich to choreograph and perform in the „Cathedral of Our Dear Lady“ of Munich as part of the Ash Wednesday of the artists.

In 2013 he organized a new showcase for upcoming choreographers entitled 5 Jears Merry- go-round and collaborated once again with the Prototype Status Cie. in Swizerland for the new production “Playground”.

In February 2014, he collaborated with the the independent Munich-based theater company satellit produktion for the political theater/dance piece „brothers in arms“ and in May he created the dance installation for 80 young dancers, Im_puls for the St. Ursula and the St. Mauritius Church in Munich. In february 2015 he produced the showcase L_overdose and again in the „Cathedral of Our Dear Lady“ of Munich as part of the Ash Wednesday of the artists, he created the group installation U_turn. His next production, Hiatus, togethere with company satellit produktion will happen in Munich in November 2015.

His last creations were the duet „Bittersweet Carousel“ for Katherina Markowskaja and Maxim Chashchegorov in April 2017 and the Trio „NULLPUNKT“ for the Heinz Bosl Fundation which had Premiere on the 19th of November in the National Opera House of Munich.
