short bio:
David Valencia Martinez received his training at Incolballet in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. While still a student, he was awarded second prize at the “La Habana” International Ballet Festival. He furthered his education in modern dance, ethnic dances, tango, singing, and theatre. Following his initial experiences in Lausanne, Chemnitz, and Munich, he performed with the Gauthier Dance Company at Theaterhaus Stuttgart and at the Anhalt Theatre in Dessau. Since the 2015/2016 season, he has been a Soloist at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. David has also created several choreographies, including works for Kunstareal München. As of 2025, he dedicates his time to assisting choreographers and leading workshops.
class description:
The class is structured into three well-defined phases:
Warm-up and Active Stretches: This initial stage aims to stimulate blood circulation and prepare the joints, getting the body ready for subsequent phases with fluid and conscious movements.
Movements Across the Studio: In this phase, we focus on a sequential and dynamic process that encourages the acquisition and development of motor skills, exploring space consciously and efficiently.
Exploration and Creativity: The final phase focuses attention on movement qualities, experimentation through guided improvisations, and working in contact with other participants, enhancing sensitivity and connection.
