Emese Nagy is a Hungarian choreographer / dancer / teacher. She is based in München, Germany. She graduated at the Contemporary department of the Hungarian Dance Academy. As a dancer she has worked with companies and choreographers from Europe and from Israel, where she trained with the Batsheva Dance Company.
She was awarded the title of Emerging choreographer at Springboard Danse Montreal 2018, a position she also held at La Biennale Di Venezia 2020.
In 2017 Emese co-founded ‘MA•ZE’ and now works as a freelance dance artist with choreographers such as Hiroaki Umeda, Yaniv Cohen, Yaniv Avraham, Guy Shomroni, Jasmine Ellis, Jack Gallagher, Máté Mészáros, Lior Lazarof, Krisztián Gergye, János Feledi and László Fülöp to name a few.
My main focus is improvisation and I combine elements and inspirations from different movement methods. With this way of training I would like to become more aware and generous by multitasking. The practise is an active play in embodied presence that constantly harvests the imagination.
Trainings explore both solo and ensemble through exercises that are playful and challenging. Every exercise expresses the relationship between attention, awareness, and action.
